The department of Philosophy is recruiting for part time faculty to teach various courses in Philosophy in the Spring 2026, Summer 2026, and Fall 2026 semesters. The responsibilities include teaching the course, grading, providing office hours in person and through zoom, and student mentoring as needed.

Applicants who are appointed to a UNM faculty position are required to provide an official certification of successful completion of all degree requirements prior to their initial employment with UNM.Minimum Qualifications:

To teach courses as described aboveare determined by Higher Learning Commission's accreditation requirements forfaculty, and must be met by one of these ways:

• Master's Degree or higher in Philosophy or subfield for which you are applying;

Or

• Master'sdegree or higher in a field other than Philosophy that is relatedto the position for which you are applying;

Or

• Successful completion of at least 18graduate credit hours in an accredited program in the discipline or subfieldfor which you are applying (i.e. BA or BS degree for example).

Preferred Qualifications:

• 
  Two years professional experience in the specialization or subfield
• An earned doctorate from an accredited institution
• Successful teaching experience in a post-secondary institution
• Successful experience teaching courses using a variety of teaching modalities (such as Face-to-Face, Remote, and Fully Online)
• A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities
