Distribution Center Intern
On-the-Floor Exposure
- Receiving (inbound shipments, putaway)
- Picking (batch, zone, or wave picking depending on your setup)
- Packing & shipping
- Returns processing (if applicable)
System Learning (SAP)
- How orders flow through SAP
- Inventory tracking & adjustments
- Basic transactions (viewing orders, stock levels, etc.)
Skills You Will Build (Highly Valuable)
Hard Skills
- ERP systems: SAP ERP vs NetSuite
- Warehouse operations metrics (pick rate, fill rate, accuracy)
- Excel / data analysis
- Process mapping
Real-World Experience
- System migration exposure (huge rsum value)
- Change management in operations
