About the Role:

The Staff Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity and accuracy of the company's accounting records. This position is responsible for preparing and analyzing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. The Staff Accountant will perform detailed account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, to verify the accuracy of financial data and identify discrepancies. By managing journal entries and maintaining the general ledger, this role ensures that all financial transactions are recorded correctly and timely. Ultimately, the Staff Accountant contributes to the overall financial health of the organization by providing reliable financial information that supports strategic decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in accounting roles, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ERP systems commonly used in manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with internal controls and audit processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and data analysis functions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of cash balances.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate any discrepancies or unusual transactions.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes by ensuring all accounting activities are completed accurately and on time.
  • Analyze account activity and provide detailed explanations for variances and trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and support audit activities.
  • Maintain organized and accurate accounting records to facilitate efficient financial reporting.
