Academic Advisor I or II

What You Will Do

  • Assists students in achieving their educational goals by providing personalized academic planning, guidance on degree requirements, and ongoing support to promote retention and success.
  • Assists with course selection, monitoring academic progress, identifying and supporting at-risk students, interpreting university policies, and connecting students with campus resources.

Salary Information:

Academic Advisor I - $42,500
Academic Advisor II - $45,500

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

Academic Advisor I Master's Degree
Academic Advisor II Master's Degree +2 years of Experience

A Master's degree is required
For Academic Advisor II, at least two years of direct advisory experience is required.

Knowledge of college student development, academic advising theory, and the college environment. Knowledge of student support service available to college students. Ability to demonstrate good communication skills and personal rapport with diverse populations. Ability to use computerized student information systems and personal computing software. Experience assisting students with adjusting to college-level academic expectations. Demonstrate a concerned and caring attitude toward students.
