Job Description
Love figuring out how things work? Good with your hands and sharp with the details? This is your way in. As a Parts Washer, you’ll be at the front of our transmission remanufacturing process, preparing parts so our builders can do their best work. You’ll learn how production flows, get hands-on with real transmission parts every day, and build the foundation for a career as a Transmission Builder Apprentice.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
¦ Learn the flow of production and our basic production procedures
¦ Sort parts and keep track of every one so nothing gets lost or mixed up
¦ Wash parts using solvent
¦ Paint parts
¦ Keep your work area and machines clean and organized, including taking out scrap and garbage
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
¦ Mechanically inclined. You like working with tools, parts, and machines, and you’re curious about how they fit together.
¦ Detail-oriented. You notice small things and can keep track of a lot of parts without losing the thread.
¦ Reliable. You’re on time and changed into uniform before your shift starts.
¦ Eager to learn. You’ll pick up different transmission types, and we’ll teach you the rest. No experience required.
¦ Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
WHERE THIS CAN TAKE YOU
This is an entry-level role designed as a starting point. Strong performers in Pre-Production have a path to our Transmission Builder Apprenticeship, so the skills you build here, from recognizing transmission types to understanding how parts move through production, are the same ones you’ll use as a builder.
