Job Description
The Vice President of Corporate Development is responsible for leading Bosch Building Technologies North America's (BT-NA) inorganic growth strategy and acquisition activities. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Strategy, you will own the end-to-end Merger & Acquisition (M&A) lifecycle, including pipeline development, deal sourcing, target evaluation, due diligence, transaction execution, and value realization planning, while supporting broader growth initiatives through strategic partnerships and market expansion opportunities.
This role serves as a key advisor to the North American Regional President and Executive Leadership Team on acquisitions, strategic investments, and inorganic growth opportunities. The Vice President of Corporate Development is responsible for developing and managing the M&A pipeline, leading executive pipeline reviews, advancing investment opportunities through Bosch governance processes, preparing transaction recommendations, building stakeholder alignment, and securing required regional and global approvals through final transaction closing. This position can be located from any of our major Bosch Building Technologies offices in North America.
Responsibilities:
Corporate Development & M&A
- Own the North America M&A strategy, acquisition roadmap, and transaction pipeline.
- Ensure investment theses are aligned with strategic growth priorities and portfolio objectives.
- Lead target screening, market mapping, pre-diligence, and acquisition prioritization.
- Build and maintain relationships with investment banks, private equity firms, founders, advisors, and industry executives.
- Lead all phases of transaction execution from opportunity identification through closing.
- Oversee valuation, financial modeling, transaction structuring, synergy assessment, and investment recommendations.
- Manage external advisors and diligence providers.
- Execute a disciplined, repeatable M&A process and acquisition governance framework.
Executive Pipeline Reviews & Investment Approvals
- Own executive reviews of the M&A pipeline, acquisition opportunities, and strategic investment priorities.
- Govern and present investment propositions, business cases, transaction recommendations, and approval materials to executive leadership and applicable regional & global governance bodies.
- Build alignment among business leaders, executive stakeholders, and approval authorities on transaction recommendations and investment decisions.
- Coordinate transactions through Bosch approval processes and governance milestones from initial screening through final approval and closing.
- Partner with senior leadership to ensure proposed investments align with strategic priorities, financial objectives, and portfolio goals.
Strategic Growth & Partnerships
- Identify and evaluate strategic partnerships, alliances, joint ventures, and ecosystem opportunities.
- Develop partnership strategies that accelerate market penetration, capability development, and recurring revenue growth.
- Coordinate growth initiatives across adjacent markets, digital services, software platforms, managed services, and emerging technologies.
- Execute new business models, route-to-market opportunities, and ecosystem expansion initiatives.
- Collaborate with business leaders to identify inorganic and partnership-driven growth opportunities.
- Maintain an active external network to identify market trends, emerging competitors, acquisition candidates, and strategic partners.
Due Diligence & Transaction Leadership
- Coordinate commercial, operational, financial, legal, HR, cybersecurity, and IT due diligence workstreams.
- Own financial modeling, valuation analysis, synergy assessment, and business case development.
- Ensure acquisition opportunities align with Bosch strategic priorities and financial objectives.
- Own governance and decision-making processes throughout the transaction lifecycle.
- Coordinate alignment among executive stakeholders and business leaders during transaction execution.
Integration Readiness & Value Realization
- Partner with the Enterprise Transformation & Integration Office (ETIO) to ensure a seamless transition from transaction execution to post-close integration.
- Govern deal value drivers, synergy targets, operating model implications, and value-capture plans prior to closing.
- Coordinate integration readiness activities and executive governance reviews.
- Monitor post-acquisition performance against the approved investment thesis and target outcomes.
- Report on acquisition performance, synergy realization, and value creation.
- Coordinate portfolio optimization activities, including divestitures, carve-outs, and strategic reviews.
Market & Portfolio Leadership
- Support strategic planning and long-range planning activities.
- Provide recommendations regarding portfolio expansion, capability development, and market positioning.
- Evaluate strategic investment opportunities and emerging growth platforms.
- Coordinate enterprise capital allocation, investment prioritization, and portfolio management processes.
- Partner with Strategy, Finance, and business leaders on portfolio decisions.
- Provide competitive, market, and acquisition intelligence to support executive decision-making.
Leadership & Organizational Development
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Corporate Development organization.
- Own best-in-class M&A processes, governance, tools, and performance metrics.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the North American Regional President, Executive Leadership Team and Senior Vice President of Strategy
- Foster a disciplined, data-driven investment culture focused on long-term value creation.
- Develop organizational capability in acquisitions, partnerships, investment analysis, and strategic growth.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, strategy consulting, strategic finance, or related disciplines, including demonstrated success leading acquisitions from sourcing through closing.
- Strong expertise in valuation, financial modeling, due diligence, negotiation, and transaction execution.
- Experience leading cross-functional deal teams in complex corporate environments.
- Demonstrated experience presenting acquisition opportunities, strategic investments, and business cases to executive leadership teams, investment committees, boards of directors, or comparable governance bodies.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive decisions.
- Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and relationship-management skills.
- Fluent English written & spoken
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or equivalent graduate degree.
- Experience within building technologies, building automation, security, fire and life safety, digital services, software, industrial technology, or technical services.
- Experience leading multiple concurrent acquisitions and strategic investments.
- International transaction experience.
- Demonstrated record of creating value through acquisitions, partnerships, and portfolio-management initiatives.
- Fluent German written & spoken

Additional Information:
- Compensation: $225,000 - $260,000 + 30% Annual Bonus (DOE)
- Working Hours: This position generally works Monday- Friday, overtime and on call when necessary
- Travel Requirements: 20 - 30%
