Caregiver On-Call Positions OPEN! We are looking for amazing candidates to hire on and train into our on-call pool of caregivers. When full time positions come available, they are offered to existing on-call employees. Come and join our team!

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Wellness Director, Wellness Coordinator, or licensed nurse as applicable, the Caregiver is responsible for providing direct, hands-on care and supportive services to residents in an assisted living community. This role promotes resident dignity, privacy, choice, and independence while supporting the community’s philosophy of aging in place. Care is delivered in accordance with individual care plans, organizational policies, and all applicable regulatory requirements.

CARE GIVER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, personal hygiene, toileting, and continence care, in accordance with individual care plans.
  • Support resident mobility, including transfers, ambulation, positioning, and use of assistive devices as directed.
  • Assist residents to and from meals and provide mealtime support as needed to promote nutrition, dignity, and safety.
  • Provide medication assistance or medication administration when trained, authorized, and permitted by role, delegation, and regulation.
  • Measure and record vital signs, observe and report changes in resident condition, behavior, or functional status, and communicate concerns promptly to wellness leadership or nursing staff.
  • Complete treatments or clinical support tasks as ordered and within the caregiver’s scope of practice.
  • Provide emotional support and maintain a calm, respectful, and reassuring presence for residents at all times.
  • Accurately and timely document care provided, observations, and services rendered in accordance with policy.
  • Maintain open communication between shifts to ensure continuity of care and sharing of relevant resident information.
  • Assist with light housekeeping duties in resident living areas, including bed making, linen changes, trash removal, and maintaining a clean, safe environment as outlined in the care plan.
  • Support residents with personal laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and returning items as needed.
  • Assist dining services with beverage service, meal setup, clearing tables, and in-room dining support as appropriate.
  • Stock supplies, maintain clean and organized work areas, and clean shared equipment in accordance with infection control and safety standards.
  • Follow all safety, emergency, infection control, and resident rights protocols.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all background check, training, and competency requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the needs of the community and resident care.

Note: All employees of Olympus Retirement Living are required to submit and be cleared to work in the facility per each state’s specific background check requirements prior to contact with patients/residents.

Requirements:

Qualifications Education

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Completion of caregiver training required by applicable regulations.
  • Current, valid certification as a Home Care Aide/Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred or required based on role scope and state regulations.
  • Current CPR certification.

Experience

  • Previous experience in assisted living, long-term care, or a related healthcare setting preferred.
  • Experience assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and providing resident-centered care preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow care plans, communicate effectively, maintain accurate documentation, and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and facility staff.
  • Ability to demonstrate compassion and patience.
  • Ability to maintain resident confidentiality.

Physical Abilities

  • Candidates must be able to push/pull/bend/lift up to 25lbs.
  • Walking and standing for long periods
