This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Engineering Manager, Fiat Payments & Banking Infrastructure in the United States.

This role sits at the core of modern financial infrastructure, leading the engineering teams responsible for building and scaling fiat payment systems and banking integrations. You will oversee critical backend platforms that power money movement across global rails such as ACH, RTP, FedNow, SEPA, and SWIFT, ensuring reliability, scalability, and compliance. The position combines hands-on technical leadership with people management, requiring a strong engineering background and a product-oriented mindset. You will work closely with product, operations, and external banking partners to design and deliver resilient financial systems. The environment is fast-paced, highly regulated, and mission-critical, where precision, security, and performance are essential. This is a high-impact leadership role shaping the future of digital and fiat financial infrastructure at scale.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of engineers responsible for fiat payments and banking infrastructure systems.
  • Oversee the design, development, and delivery of scalable backend systems, APIs, and banking integrations.
  • Drive technical architecture and planning to ensure robust, secure, and high-performance financial platforms.
  • Collaborate with Product and Program teams to define roadmap priorities and translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Manage integrations with external banking partners and third-party financial service providers.
  • Ensure system reliability, uptime, transaction throughput, and low payment latency across all fiat rails.
  • Participate in cross-functional technical discussions with product, finance, operations, and external stakeholders.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop engineers, supporting career growth and team performance.
  • Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives and maintain hands-on familiarity with the codebase (primarily Golang).
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, security standards, and data protection requirements in all systems.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience building backend systems, APIs, and distributed systems.
  • 2+ years of experience in engineering management, including leadership of senior engineers.
  • Strong experience with Golang or similar backend programming languages.
  • Deep expertise in fintech, Banking-as-a-Service, or fiat payment systems (ACH, RTP, FedNow, SEPA, SWIFT).
  • Proven experience integrating with banking APIs or third-party financial service providers.
  • Strong understanding of financial compliance frameworks (KYC/AML, data privacy, security standards).
  • Experience designing and operating high-scale, distributed systems handling sensitive financial data.
  • Ability to define technical strategy and lead architectural decisions for complex systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration skills with Product teams to balance trade-offs between speed, quality, and scalability.
  • Experience working directly with external partners and guiding technical integrations is highly valued.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation with equity participation opportunities.
  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage, including medical, dental, and vision (with strong employer contribution).
  • Paid parental leave after eligibility period.
  • Remote-first work environment with flexible structure.
  • Annual stipends for work-from-home expenses and learning & development.
  • Access to coworking membership programs.
  • Opportunity to work on mission-critical global financial infrastructure at scale.
  • High-impact leadership role with significant technical and organizational influence.
