About the role
The Events Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, detailing, and executing events at the hotel—from corporate meetings and social celebrations to weddings and conferences. This role serves as a key client contact throughout the event planning and execution process, ensuring each event is thoughtfully planned, accurately detailed, and delivered in alignment with the hotel’s brand standards. The Events Manager partners closely with Sales, Culinary, Banquets, Rooms, and Operations to deliver seamless service, exceptional experiences, and lasting impressions for every guest and client. This role is based in Savannah.
What you'll do
- Serve as a primary contact for clients throughout the event planning, detailing, execution, and post-event follow-up process.
- Plan, organize, and manage event details, including proposals, contracts, timelines, Banquet Event Orders, diagrams, and client communications.
- Conduct site visits, planning meetings, tastings, and consultations to understand client needs, expectations, and event vision.
- Create and distribute accurate Banquet Event Orders, event resumes, timelines, and event diagrams.
- Collaborate with Culinary, Banquets, Sales, Rooms, and Operations teams to ensure clear communication and flawless execution.
- Manage event budgets, billing details, guarantees, and profitability in alignment with hotel standards.
- Identify appropriate upsell opportunities throughout the event planning and detailing process to enhance the client and guest experience.
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients, planners, vendors, and internal partners to encourage repeat and referral business.
- Partner with Sales & Marketing to support revenue goals, client retention, and future business opportunities.
- Anticipate event needs, communicate proactively, and resolve issues with professionalism and a client-first mindset.
- Ensure event details, service standards, and operational execution reflect the hotel’s brand, quality expectations, and guest experience standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of event, catering, conference services, or event management experience in a hotel, resort, private club, venue, or high-touch hospitality environment.
- Experience planning, detailing, and executing weddings, social events, corporate meetings, conferences, or complex catered events.
- Strong knowledge of event logistics, banquet operations, Banquet Event Orders, timelines, diagrams, guarantees, billing, and contract management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a polished, client-first mindset.
- Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
- Collaborative approach with the ability to partner smoothly across Sales, Culinary, Banquets, Rooms, and Operations.
- Ability to manage client expectations, vendor communication, last-minute changes, and high-touch event details with professionalism and composure.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business and event needs.
- Must be based in Savannah or willing to relocate to the Savannah area.
