Job Summary:
The Supervisory Attorney is responsible for assisting the State Level Attorney with case management, implementing priorities, assigning work, and supervising Associate Attorneys and Paralegals. In addition to this role’s supervisory duties, the Supervisory Attorney will also be responsible for managing their own litigation including issuing and responding to discovery, motion practice and counterclaim defense.
Essential Duties:
· Assist the State Level Attorney in monitoring contested litigation files to ensure that Associate Attorneys are completing contested matters in a timely manner
· Assist the State Level Attorney with incoming emails from clients and Associate Attorneys
· Assist the State Level Attorney in monitoring Associate Attorneys’ personal diaries and ensuring those diaries are up to date
· Review Associate Attorneys contested work product before it is sent to the client for approval, such as motions and counterclaim responses
· Oversee the discovery process with the Associate Attorneys and Paralegals
· Appear in court for the firm up to 3 days per week
· Argue contested motions before the court as well as conduct trials and arbitrations
· Assist the State Level Attorney with case management of contested matters
· Assist with the training of new Associate Attorneys
· Be available to offer help and advice to Attorneys
· Prepare and respond to discovery, handle depositions, and oversee counterclaims in which BG or client are named
· Review of and signing off on pleadings printed for filing with the Courts such as Complaints and Motions
· Drafting of various motions and responses to contested matters
· Management of both telephonic and written contact with opposing counsel
Requirements:Education/Experience:
· Juris Doctorate and admittance to Arizona Bar required. (Additional licenses in BG states is preferred)
· 5+ years of litigation experience require
