POSITION OVERVIEW
As General Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for Batley's Grill & Bar. You will oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring an exceptional guest experience while driving profitability, developing team members, and maintaining the high standards our guests have come to expect.
SCHEDULE / COMPENSATION
- Full-time, salaried position
- General Managers are expected to work approximately 50 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and other peak business periods as needed.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Oversee all aspects of restaurant operations in accordance with company policies, procedures, and service standards to maximize guest satisfaction and profitability.
- Assume full operational and financial responsibility for Batley's Grill & Bar.
- Lead, coach, and develop managers and team members while fostering a positive, team-oriented culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement.
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate team members to ensure the restaurant is appropriately staffed and positioned for success.
- Provide hands-on leadership by working alongside the team to train staff, address guest needs, and model expected behaviors and service standards.
- Monitor financial performance, including sales, labor costs, food costs, beverage costs, and controllable expenses, while identifying opportunities to improve profitability.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue, drive traffic, and enhance the guest experience.
- Maintain a visible presence in the dining room, build relationships with guests, and promptly resolve concerns to ensure exceptional service.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, health and sanitation standards, liquor regulations, and applicable employment laws.
- Collaborate with other departments to support special events, promotions, and initiatives that contribute to the success of the overall property.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of management experience in the food and beverage industry, with an emphasis on restaurant and bar operations. Experience in casual dining is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success achieving or exceeding revenue goals and driving financial performance.
- Strong understanding of food, beverage, and labor costs, with a proven track record of meeting budgeted targets.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage a high-volume, multi-million-dollar operation.
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for delivering exceptional guest service.
- The energy, adaptability, and vision necessary to sustain and grow a successful operation in a highly competitive and ever-changing industry.
- The ability to recruit, motivate, develop, and retain a winning team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a hands-on leadership style.
- Experience with restaurant point-of-sale systems and inventory management systems is a plus.
- Experience developing marketing initiatives, community partnerships, and promotional strategies is a plus.
- Previous experience overseeing multiple departments or large teams is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8+ hours) during shifts.
- Regularly required to bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to move quickly and efficiently throughout front-of-house and back-of-house areas.
- Capability to work in a variety of environments, including indoor and outdoor spaces, with varying temperature and noise levels.
