Business Development Rep Associate

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Development Rep Associate based in Canada.

This role is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious sales professional looking to build a strong foundation in business development.
You will play a key role in expanding merchant relationships by identifying new opportunities and connecting businesses with solutions that support their growth.
Working within a collaborative sales environment, you will develop prospecting, communication, and consultative selling skills.

Accountabilities:

As a Business Development Rep Associate, you will be responsible for building sales opportunities, engaging prospective merchants, and creating strong foundations for long-term customer relationships. You will use a proactive and data-driven approach to identify prospects, understand business needs, and communicate the value of available solutions.

  • Manage a diverse pipeline of prospective businesses and prioritize outreach activities to accelerate sales opportunities.
  • Conduct high-volume outbound prospecting through cold calling, email communication, and social selling.
  • Engage potential merchants as the first point of contact, understanding their challenges and identifying opportunities where solutions can support their business goals.
  • Apply a consultative sales approach by presenting relevant value propositions and creating urgency around business needs.
  • Research prospects, qualify opportunities, and maintain accurate documentation within sales systems.
  • Collaborate with account executives and sales teams to transition qualified opportunities and support revenue growth.
  • Consistently work toward and exceed monthly performance targets and sales goals.
  • Develop sales expertise through coaching, mentorship, and continuous learning opportunities.
  • Build strong knowledge of products, services, and industry trends to better support prospective customers.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a motivated and energetic sales professional with strong communication skills, a desire to learn, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You should be comfortable with outbound prospecting and motivated by achieving measurable results.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong interest in building a career in sales and business development.
  • Enthusiasm for prospecting activities, including cold calling and outbound communication.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Strong personal leadership, authenticity, curiosity, and a collaborative mindset.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate pipeline information.
