Reporting to the Director, Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, this role commands the full culinary operation at Gordon Ramsay Steak within River Rock Casino Resort. You champion company standards, cultivate a safe and empowering learning environment, and set the tone for a kitchen defined by mastery, mentorship, and elevated hospitality. This is a leadership position for a chef who thrives in high‑performance environments, embraces the discipline of a world‑renowned brand, and brings both creative vision and operational strength to every service.

Key Accountabilities

  • Culinary Leadership — Provides visionary leadership to the culinary brigade, setting the tone for excellence, consistency, and professional growth across all stations.
  • Guest Experience Excellence — Ensures exceptional guest satisfaction through flawless execution, proactive engagement, and swift, polished resolution of concerns while maintaining an elevated, energetic dining atmosphere.
  • Operational & Financial Stewardship — Oversees food and labour cost management, inventory control, supply ordering, and financial planning to achieve revenue and profitability targets aligned with brand expectations.
  • Menu Innovation & Culinary Standards — Develops and implements menus, recipes, and culinary standards that reflect Gordon Ramsay’s signature style, incorporating industry trends while protecting brand integrity and elevating the guest experience.
  • Team Recruitment & Development — Recruits, hires, trains, mentors, and manages a large, diverse kitchen team; sets performance benchmarks and fosters a culture of discipline, respect, and continuous learning.
  • Performance Management — Conducts performance evaluations, provides coaching, and manages progressive discipline with fairness and professionalism.
  • Administrative & Budget Oversight — Manages budgets, payroll, purchasing, and record‑keeping with accuracy, accountability, and operational foresight.
  • Culinary Expertise & Collaboration — Offers culinary expertise to internal and external partners, supporting brand initiatives, special events, and cross‑department collaboration.
  • Inventory Management — Leads monthly inventory counts, analyzes discrepancies, and communicates findings to management.
  • Quality, Safety & Compliance — Conducts regular inspections to ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and all statutory requirements.
  • Operational Communication — Maintains strong communication with all operational departments to ensure seamless service and alignment across the venue.
  • Relationship Building — Develops and nurtures strong working relationships with guests, ownership, and team members, reinforcing the brand’s reputation for excellence.
  • Strategic Initiatives — Leads additional initiatives as required to support culinary innovation, operational efficiency, and brand elevation.

Education and Qualifications

  • Culinary Education is considered an asset
  • Leadership Experience — Minimum 5 years of culinary management experience, ideally within premium, high‑volume, or fine‑dining environments.
  • Red Seal Certification is considered an asset
  • Food Safety Certification
  • Serving it Right Certification
  • Criminal Record Clearance — Ability to successfully clear a criminal record check.
  • Revenue growth – proven track record of results and growth through financial expertise and people development
  • Service Excellence — Demonstrated ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective, service‑oriented communication.
  • Technical Skills — Computer literacy in MS Office.
  • Leadership Attributes — People‑focused, committed to service excellence, proactive, solution‑oriented, and driven to succeed.

Work Environment Considerations

  • Regular kitchen environment, standing and walking for long periods of time, and non-traditional work hours
