Responsibilities
This is a full-time remote position that can be located anywhere in the U.S
Serves as a senior individual contributor responsible for leading the people side of large-scale enterprise technology and process change. Develops and executes organizational change management (OCM) strategies that drive adoption, minimize business disruption, and help the organization realize the full value of its transformation investments. Applies structured, methodology-based approaches (e.g., Prosci / ADKAR, Kotter, Bridges Transition Model) to assess change impacts across people, process, and stakeholders, coach sponsors, plan communications, and build readiness across a portfolio of concurrent, interdependent initiatives. Manages change workstreams with clear scope, schedules, risk tracking, and defined deliverables, ensuring accountability and transparency throughout each initiative. Partners closely with program and project leadership, business owners, and technical teams to embed change management into the overall project plan and program delivery, measure adoption, track progress against success metrics, and sustain outcomes over time. Brings deep expertise to close a current gap in enterprise change management capability and to raise the organization’s overall change maturity by establishing repeatable frameworks, toolkits, and governance structures that outlast any single initiative.
Reasonable Accommodation:
Mitchell will provide reasonable accommodations for the known physical or mental limitations of an otherwise qualified individual with a disability who is an applicant or an employee unless undue hardship would result. Any employee who requires an accommodation should contact Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities:
Change Strategy & Planning
- Develops enterprise change management strategies and actionable plans for transformation programs, tailored to the scale, complexity, and risk of each initiative.
- Conducts change impact assessments and stakeholder analyses to identify affected groups, the nature and magnitude of change, and readiness risks.
- Applies structured, methodology-based approaches (e.g., Prosci / ADKAR, Kotter, Lean Change) consistently, and helps establish shared change standards, templates, and tooling.
- Integrates change activities into overall program and project plans, partnering closely with program/project managers, business and technical leads.
Project Management & Delivery Discipline
- Plans and manages change workstreams with clear scope, milestones, and deliverables, so change activities are tracked with the same rigor as the technical delivery they support.
- Identifies and escalates change-related risks and competing priorities across concurrent initiatives, recommending trade-offs to program leadership.
- Provides transparent status reporting to program leadership on change readiness, adoption, and outstanding actions.
- Evaluates and right-sizes the change management approach for each initiative based on scope, complexity, stakeholder impact, and organizational capacity, scaling effort up or down rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communications
- Builds and maintains relationships with executive sponsors, business leaders, and key stakeholders, coaching them on their role as visible, active change sponsors.
- Designs and delivers targeted communication plans that explain the what, why, and how of change to each audience at the right time.
- Identifies, analyzes, and proactively manages resistance, surfacing concerns early and working with leaders to address root causes.
- Establishes and supports change agent / champion networks to extend reach and reinforce adoption across the business.
Training, Readiness & Adoption
- Partners with subject-matter experts and learning teams to define training needs and support the development of role-based enablement.
- Assesses organizational readiness ahead of key milestones and go-lives, and recommends go / no-go actions based on readiness indicators.
- Coordinates cutover, hypercare, and post-go-live support activities from a people-readiness perspective.
Measurement & Sustainment
- Defines and tracks adoption and change-success metrics, and reports progress and risks to program leadership and executive stakeholders.
- Gathers feedback, monitors adoption, and adjusts change approaches to close gaps and reinforce desired behaviors.
- Designs sustainment and reinforcement plans so changes stick after go-live, and captures lessons learned to strengthen the enterprise change practice.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 8+ years of progressive experience in organizational change management, with a track record of leading change on large, complex initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise-scale transformation in large, matrixed organizations.
- Hands-on experience supporting major IT / technology programs (e.g., platform modernization, ERP/ITSM implementations, infrastructure migration, cloud, or ways-of-working change).
- Deep, applied knowledge of one or more structured change methodologies (e.g., Prosci / ADKAR, Kotter, Bridges), including impact assessment, sponsor coaching, and resistance management.
- Proven ability to develop and execute change strategies, stakeholder plans, and communication approaches, and change work plans end to end.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and influencing skills, with experience engaging senior executives and front-line audiences alike.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Change management certification such as Prosci / ADKAR, CCMP (ACMP), or an equivalent recognized program.
- Familiarity with IT service management concepts and tooling (e.g., ITIL, ServiceNow) and how change management intersects with technical change enablement.
- Experience in a regulated or highly governed industry (e.g., insurance, healthcare, financial services).
- Experience standing up or maturing a change management practice, capability, or center of excellence.
- Experience with change / adoption measurement tooling and program/project management platforms (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Wrike, and ADO).
