Purpose
Aldridge Pite, LLP is seeking an Eviction Paralegal to support attorneys and the Eviction Team in managing eviction matters involving foreclosed properties. The Eviction Paralegal will be responsible for coordinating cases from initiation through resolution, preparing and filing court documents, monitoring court proceedings and deadlines, communicating with courts and sheriff's offices, and maintaining accurate case records. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple cases simultaneously, and able to communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, court personnel, sheriff's offices, and other parties.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive paralegal support to one or more eviction attorneys and the Eviction Team.
- Draft pleadings, motions, notices, correspondence, and other legal documents for attorney review.
- Prepare documents for filing with courts and ensure filings are completed accurately and timely. Coordinate court filing requirements, including requesting checks and processing filing fees.
- Monitor court dockets, case statuses, deadlines, hearings, and other important case events.
- Schedule and coordinate court appearances and hearings.
- Prepare, serve, and monitor the status of legal notices.
- Review incoming mail, court documents, notices, and other communications and promptly coordinate appropriate action with the assigned attorney.
- Communicate regularly with court clerks, sheriff's offices, attorneys, clients, defendants, and other involved parties.
- Respond professionally to incoming telephone calls and emails concerning eviction and litigation matters.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in the firm's case management and client systems.
- Ensure case files and electronic records are organized, complete, and properly documented.
- Verify property addresses and other case information using foreclosure and related documents.
- Track multiple cases simultaneously and prioritize assignments based on deadlines, court requirements, and attorney direction.
- Follow established procedures and workflows to ensure cases progress efficiently toward resolution.
- Conduct legal and procedural research as needed to support eviction matters.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Provide paralegal support to attorneys and the Eviction Team.
- High school diploma required.
- Previous legal, paralegal, foreclosure, eviction, or related experience preferred; however, relevant experience is not required.
- Relevant computer knowledge and experience.
- Strong communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Effective planning and organizing skills; attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.

- Ability to respond professionally and courteously to questions and concerns.
- Ability to manage multiple files, deadlines, hearings, and priorities effectively.
- Ability to gather information, identify relevant details, and apply sound judgment.
- Proficient in software tools including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, and the internet. Experience utilizing case management systems is highly preferred.
