About the role

Willow & Stone Hospitality is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Chef to join the kitchen team at The Watermill, Ogmore-by-Sea.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a busy kitchen, takes pride in doing things properly and can consistently deliver food to specification.

You don’t need years of high-end restaurant experience. What matters to us is that you’re dependable, organised, comfortable working at pace and committed to good food hygiene, cleanliness and teamwork.

What you’ll be doing

• Preparing and cooking dishes consistently to specification

• Working across different sections of the kitchen during service

• Ensuring food is prepared, cooked and presented correctly

• Following food safety and allergen procedures at all times

• Maintaining high standards of kitchen cleanliness and organisation

• Completing temperature checks and other required kitchen records

• Supporting stock rotation and helping reduce unnecessary waste

• Working closely with the front-of-house team to keep service running smoothly

• Helping prepare the kitchen for busy services

• Supporting other members of the kitchen team when needed

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience in a pub, restaurant or other commercial kitchen is preferred

• A good understanding of basic food hygiene

• Confidence following recipes, specifications and cooking instructions

• Ability to work calmly and efficiently during busy services

• Good standards of cleanliness and organisation

• A reliable and positive approach to work

• A willingness to work as part of a team

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays

A Food Hygiene qualification is desirable, but training can be provided.
