OverviewThe Unit Supervisor serves as a strategic lead and mentor, providing expert direction, clinical insight, and administrative instruction to case planning staff. This role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, comprehensive services to birth families, children, and foster parents. By overseeing case management workflows and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, the Unit Supervisor facilitates family reunification and permanency goals while maintaining a high standard of care and support for all stakeholders involved in the child welfare system.
Key Responsibilities
- Weekly supervision of assigned staff provide/including:
Ensure rigorous organizational compliance with ACS and New York State DSS regulations by overseeing the delivery of high-impact services aimed at achieving expedited permanency, whether through reunification, adoption, or independent living. This is achieved by championing concurrent and early permanency planning, utilizing a family-to-family approach, and maintaining strict oversight of the timely submission of all mandated documentation.
- Monitor and participate in Family Team Conferences; observe workers overall relationships with clients and other systems.
- Monthly review of progress notes and casework contacts for each caseload: all FASP’s, Permanency Hearing Reports, and all written materials submitted from the agency.
- Monthly unit meetings with case planners to disseminate information.
- Attendance at manager’s meeting and in-service training.
- Handle emergencies for case planners and other supervisors.
Required Qualifications
- MSW or MS/MA in other related human service field and 2-3 years post master’s experience.
- Good verbal and written communication skills are essential
- Computer proficient, knowledge of Connections.
- Knowledge of child welfare and related legislation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of family court procedures.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full- time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday at assigned location. Work hours options are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.

- Ability to travel to other Rising Ground Sites (if required)
