SALARY: $97,053/ yr.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare monthly grant reimbursement vouchers and prepare all related journal entries and accruals. (16%)
- Monitor grant budget spending and prepare budget modification requests as needed. (17%)
- Meet with Program Directors to manage spending and determine budget modifications. (5%)
- Ensure vouchers are issued on time and monitor that reimbursements are received timely. Follow up with funders as necessary. (5%)
- Process monthly general ledger closing, prepare adjusting journal entries, and update all monthly work papers, including fixed assets and depreciation, insurance expense, and other accrued expenses.(45%)
- Prepare annual operating budgets (12%)
- Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 3 years of experience as Accountant with a 501(c)(3) organization which must include 3 years of experience with the following:
- Preparing monthly and annual financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP.
- Maintaining the general ledger, performing account reconciliations, and supporting monthly closing activities.
- Processing journal entries and ensuring accuracy of financial records.
- Monitoring grant expenditures, supporting budget tracking, and preparing budget adjustments as needed.
- Assisting with audit preparation and compliance reporting for nonprofit and grant-related activities.
- Developing and maintaining internal controls and accounting procedures in compliance with nonprofit accounting standards.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities for organizational financial management.
