Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a DevSecOps Software Developer SME based in the United States.
This role is a senior-level engineering position focused on designing, building, and maintaining secure automation and DevSecOps capabilities across mission-critical cloud and software delivery environments. You will act as a technical expert responsible for improving deployment speed, system reliability, and security compliance through scalable automation and well-structured engineering practices. Working across infrastructure, development, security, and operations teams, you will help translate complex operational needs into repeatable pipelines, tools, and workflows. The role requires deep troubleshooting ability across cloud, application, and infrastructure layers in highly regulated environments. You will also provide technical leadership and mentorship while contributing directly to engineering execution. This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced DevSecOps professional who thrives in complex, security-driven systems at scale.
- Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions across CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, cloud services, and operational workflows.
- Apply full software development lifecycle expertise to build, test, deploy, and sustain secure and scalable systems.
- Develop scripts, tools, and services using modern programming and automation languages to reduce manual effort and improve reliability.
- Translate business and technical requirements into detailed designs, workflows, diagrams, and implementation plans.
- Implement and maintain DevSecOps practices including secure configuration management, vulnerability remediation, and compliance integration.
- Troubleshoot complex issues spanning applications, operating systems, networks, cloud platforms, identity systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Build and maintain documentation, including standard operating procedures, technical guides, and system artifacts.
- Support infrastructure as code practices and cloud automation initiatives in controlled and mission-focused environments.
- Participate in Agile engineering activities, including planning, execution, and iterative delivery cycles.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and act as a task or technical lead when required.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, network, and application teams to ensure integrated and secure delivery pipelines.
- Ensure system stability, operational readiness, and continuous improvement of engineering processes and tooling.
- 10+ years of experience in software development, DevOps, automation engineering, or systems engineering in mission-critical environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, source control systems, and automation frameworks.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar) and infrastructure automation practices.
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles, including security scanning, vulnerability remediation, and compliance workflows.
- Experience working with containerized environments and infrastructure as code tools.
- Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting complex distributed systems across multiple technical layers.
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows and pipeline orchestration tools such as GitLab CI/CD or similar platforms.
- Experience in regulated, government, defense, or highly secure environments is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently, manage technical priorities, and deliver under limited supervision.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant certification such as Security+ CE or equivalent DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Competitive annual salary ranging from $149,469 to $201,250, depending on experience and location.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans.
- 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer matching contributions.
- Generous paid time off, including vacation, sick leave, holidays, and parental leave.
- Flexible remote work arrangements across the United States.
- Life, disability, and supplemental insurance options for financial protection.
- Professional development opportunities in cloud, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, and automation technologies.
- Exposure to large-scale, mission-critical government and defense technology programs.
- Work-life balance programs including flexible schedules and paid family leave options.
- Collaborative engineering culture focused on innovation, security, and operational excellence.
