Billing Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Billing Analyst based in Canada.

This role sits within a global clinical research environment supporting complex, long-term client contracts across the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors.
The Billing Analyst plays a key part in ensuring financial accuracy across project billing, revenue tracking, and cost reconciliation.
You will collaborate closely with Project Managers and finance teams to align billed amounts with actual work performed.
The position is highly detail-oriented, requiring strong analytical skills and precision in managing financial data.
It offers exposure to international stakeholders and multi-country operations within a fast-growing, quality-driven organization.
The environment is collaborative, customer-focused, and centered on delivering accurate and timely financial reporting.

Accountabilities:
  • Reconcile customer invoices with monthly work effort trackers to ensure all completed project work is accurately and promptly billed.
  • Compare billed amounts against accrued revenue for large client accounts and investigate discrepancies in collaboration with Project Managers.
  • Support study closeout activities by ensuring all revenue, invoices, and billable costs are fully captured, reconciled, and resolved prior to closure.
  • Prepare billing-related audit confirmations for sponsors, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.
  • Assist with billing history reconciliation requests and support reporting needs from internal stakeholders.
  • Manage billing and collections for assigned accounts while providing backup support to other team members as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field, with 3–5 years of financial analysis or billing experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, including advanced data analysis and reconciliation functions.
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar financial systems is considered an asset.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all financial and reporting tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Collaborative attitude and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
