Technical Service Representative

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Service Representative based in Australia.

This is a hands-on technical service role within a high-performing, fast-paced team environment where you will play a key part in supporting critical industrial operations. In this position, you will work directly with customers to ensure water treatment programs run efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory standards. You will be responsible for monitoring system performance, conducting testing, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining essential chemical dosing and monitoring equipment. The role combines field-based technical work with customer-facing responsibilities, requiring both strong practical skills and a service-oriented mindset. You will contribute directly to operational efficiency, system reliability, and environmental safety across key industrial applications. Accountabilities
  • Sample, test, and analyze cooling water and boiler water systems, ensuring accurate recording and interpretation of results.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot out-of-specification results and implement corrective actions to restore system performance.
  • Inspect, maintain, clean, and calibrate chemical dosing systems and monitoring equipment to ensure operational reliability.
  • Collect, prepare, and dispatch biological samples for laboratory testing and analysis.
  • Perform cooling tower disinfection, cleaning, and decontamination activities in line with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Install, replace, and maintain corrosion monitoring equipment, including coupons and related systems.
  • Carry out manual chemical dosing and equipment reprogramming when required to maintain system balance.
  • Monitor chemical inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of stock.
  • Maintain accurate records of all testing, maintenance activities, and system performance data.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols, maintain high housekeeping standards, and identify potential workplace hazards.
Requirements
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety with the ability to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Practical mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic understanding of chemistry principles or willingness to quickly develop technical knowledge in water treatment systems.
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy in testing and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and maintain consistent performance in field-based environments.
  • Comfortable performing routine, structured, and repetitive technical tasks.
  • Proficiency with computers and digital systems for data recording and reporting.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to build positive customer relationships.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Trade qualification or degree in Chemistry, Science, Engineering, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Fresh graduates with strong technical aptitude and motivation to learn are encouraged to apply.
