Position Status: This position is contingent upon contract award and successful contract transition. Employment is also contingent upon the candidate's ability to satisfy all customer, contract, and security clearance requirements.

If awarded, this position is expected to be covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Compensation, benefits, and working conditions for covered positions will be administered in accordance with the applicable agreement and contract requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Quality Control Lead – Mechanical is responsible for overseeing quality assurance and quality control activities related to the operation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of mechanical systems and infrastructure. This position helps ensure services are performed in accordance with contract requirements, industry standards, manufacturer recommendations, and applicable regulatory requirements. Working closely with operations, engineering, and maintenance personnel, the Quality Control Lead – Mechanical conducts inspections, evaluates work performance, identifies opportunities for improvement, and supports the delivery of safe, reliable, and high-quality facilities services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead quality control and quality assurance activities related to mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, utility systems, central plant equipment, and associated infrastructure.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and performance evaluations of maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Verify completed work meets contract requirements, industry standards, manufacturer specifications, and quality expectations.
  • Review maintenance records, inspection reports, work orders, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify deficiencies, nonconformances, and recurring issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support root cause analysis efforts related to equipment failures, maintenance issues, and quality concerns.
  • Monitor compliance with preventive maintenance programs and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
  • Coordinate with operations, engineering, safety, and maintenance personnel to improve service delivery and operational performance.
  • Assist with customer inspections, audits, assessments, and performance reviews.
  • Prepare quality reports, trend analyses, and performance metrics for management and Government stakeholders.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reliability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure all quality control activities are conducted in accordance with contract requirements, safety standards, and organizational policies.
Requirements:

JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience supporting facilities operations, maintenance, construction, industrial, or quality assurance programs.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience serving in a quality control, quality assurance, inspection, or supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC equipment, plumbing systems, central utility plant equipment, building automation systems, and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Experience conducting inspections, audits, assessments, and quality reviews within large commercial, industrial, institutional, or government facilities.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, maintenance records, specifications, drawings, and contract requirements.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Strong written communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening.

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting federal government facilities contracts.
  • Experience working within a Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) program.
  • Knowledge of non-destructive testing methodologies and condition-based maintenance practices.
  • Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), or similar quality certification.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as Maximo.
  • Experience supporting central utility plants, mission-critical facilities, training campuses, or large institutional environments.
  • Experience developing quality management plans, inspection procedures, and performance metrics.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is primarily performed in an office environment but also requires regular interaction with operational and maintenance areas throughout the facility. The incumbent must be able to sit for extended periods, use a computer and standard office equipment, and communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through written correspondence. The position requires frequent walking throughout operational, maintenance, utility, and outdoor facility environments to conduct inspections, audits, and quality assessments. The incumbent may occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Work may be performed in office, industrial, maintenance, warehouse, training, and outdoor environments and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, noise levels, and operational activities. The ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when entering designated work areas is required. Occasional evening, weekend, or extended work hours may be necessary to support operational requirements, emergency response activities, or contract needs.

The compensation range provided for this position is intended as a general guideline. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, certifications, geographic location, market conditions, and business needs, consistent with applicable laws and contract requirements.

Positions covered by the Service Contract Act (SCA), Davis-Bacon Act (DBA), Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), or other applicable contract requirements will be administered in accordance with those requirements. Compensation, benefits, and work rules for positions covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement will be governed by the applicable agreement.
