Role Overview

As the Assistant General Manager, you are the operational engine of the branch.

You are responsible for executing Patty Slaps' operational standards, policies, and systems on a daily basis. You ensure smooth operations, support team performance, and maintain consistent execution across all areas of the restaurant.

Working closely with the General Manager, Team Leads, and Team Members, you play a key role in maintaining operational excellence, supporting team development, and ensuring compliance with company standards. You also provide valuable operational insights that contribute to continuous improvement and branch performance.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Management
  • Execute daily operations in accordance with Patty Slaps standards and procedures

  • Manage shift flow to ensure efficient and seamless service

  • Adjust staffing assignments and operational priorities based on real-time business needs

  • Maintain operational readiness, cleanliness, organization, and inventory levels

  • Identify operational challenges and recommend solutions to the General Manager

  • Monitor Team Lead performance and provide day-to-day coaching and support

  • Ensure consistent execution of company procedures across all shifts

Vendor Relations
  • Place supply orders according to approved inventory levels and company guidelines

  • Verify deliveries for accuracy, quality, and completeness

  • Communicate with vendors to resolve routine issues and discrepancies

  • Monitor product rotation and inventory practices to minimize waste

  • Escalate vendor concerns to the General Manager when necessary

  • Support the evaluation of vendor performance and service quality

Financial Management
  • Complete cash counts and register reconciliations at the end of shifts

  • Ensure accurate recording of sales, labor, and operational data

  • Report discrepancies and irregularities to the General Manager

  • Monitor labor costs and supply usage throughout daily operations

  • Ensure Team Leads follow financial procedures and controls

  • Support initiatives that improve operational efficiency and financial performance

Control & Assessment
  • Conduct daily quality control and compliance checks

  • Complete food safety, sanitation, and operational checklist requirements

  • Monitor compliance with company standards in real time

  • Record quality control findings, incidents, and operational observations

  • Report compliance concerns and corrective actions to the General Manager

  • Ensure Team Leads consistently follow established procedures and standards

Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead by example and demonstrate Patty Slaps values during every shift

  • Train, coach, and support Team Leads on operational procedures

  • Motivate team members through recognition, guidance, and support

  • Clearly communicate daily priorities and expectations

  • Assist in resolving routine operational and team-related issues

  • Provide feedback and team insights to the General Manager

  • Contribute to the development of future leaders within the branch

Sales & Marketing
  • Execute marketing initiatives according to company strategies and guidelines

  • Set up promotional materials and prepare teams for campaign launches

  • Monitor guest engagement during promotions and special initiatives

  • Interact with guests to encourage participation and enhance the customer experience

  • Provide feedback on campaign performance to the General Manager

  • Recommend local initiatives that support branch performance

Reporting & Administration
  • Submit shift summaries, quality control logs, and compliance reports

  • Support the tracking of SOP adherence and operational performance

  • Assist in maintaining and updating operational documentation

  • Ensure records and reports are accurate, complete, and submitted on time

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of management or supervisory experience in the restaurant industry

  • Experience leading teams and coordinating operations

  • Understanding of labor management, scheduling, inventory control, and quality assurance practices

  • Bilingual (French & English) required

Working Conditions
  • Full-time position

  • Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment

  • Active floor presence during operations

  • Standing and walking for extended periods

Availability Requirements
  • Full availability required, including weekends

  • Availability for opening, closing, and peak business periods

  • Ability to respond to operational needs when required
