Maintenance & Custodial Technician in Pewaukee, Wisconsin at Good Harvest Market Corporation

Good Harvest Market is Waukesha County's largest independently owned natural and organic grocer, and home to Hop Harvest & Vine, our onsite restaurant, bar, and event space.

We're looking for a hands-on, self-motivated person who takes real pride in a clean, well-kept building and can perform basic handyman tasks throughout the facility. This is a full-time, varied role at the center of keeping our store, restaurant, and grounds running and looking their best every day.

What You'll Do

• Keep our facility clean and safe: restrooms, floors, entrances, and customer areas are a daily priority and a core part of this role
• Handle the steady stream of small repairs and projects that come up in a busy building; changing lightbulbs, repairing fixtures, patching and repainting walls as needed, and more
• Maintain outdoor spaces including walkways, the pavilion, and playground area, weeding, litter pickup, and general upkeep, and assist with weather-related needs like salting and clearing walkways
• Help maintain the cleanliness of our equipment and keep our maintenance storage areas clean and organized
• Use good judgment about when a job is yours to handle versus when to bring in a contractor

What We're Looking For

• A hands-on self-starter who's equally comfortable with a mop and a toolbox
• Someone who takes ownership of the building rather than waiting to be told what needs attention
• Organized and dependable, with the ability to manage priorities and follow through consistently
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions year-round

What You'll Get

• $18-$20/hr depending on experience, paid weekly every Friday

Experience & Skills

• Prior experience in custodial work, maintenance, groundskeeping, or general handywork is a plus
• Comfortable and capable with basic repairs, you don't need a trades license, but you need to know your way around a toolbox
• Comfortable with custodial duties as a daily core function of the role, not an occasional task
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and use good judgment about safety and scope

Work Environment & Schedule

• Full time, set schedule of 6a-2p, Tuesday through Saturday
• Work takes place both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions year-round

Physical Requirements

• Regular lifting up to 50 lbs; occasional lifting up to 75 lbs
• Regular bending, reaching, climbing, and standing throughout the shift

• Reliable, on-time attendance is essential given our early shift start
