Role Description
The Destination Management Company (DMC) Manager leads the creation and ongoing operation of Brasada Ranch's in-house destination management business, delivering curated experiences, transportation, teambuilding, off-site excursions, and event logistics for group, incentive, and leisure guests. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role is both entrepreneurial and operational: in year one, the Manager will build the business from the ground up — establishing its commercial framework, vendor network, product offerings, and service standards — and thereafter will manage it as a profitable, guest-centric operating unit that extends the Brasada Ranch brand beyond the resort's borders.
General Responsibilities
· Develop the business plan, operating budget, and pricing model for the DMC in partnership with the Managing Director and finance team.
· Define the initial product portfolio — signature experiences, excursions, teambuilding programs, transportation offerings, and event enhancements — aligned with the Brasada Ranch brand.
· Establish licensing, insurance, permitting, and risk-management requirements for off-property and adventure programming.
· Source, vet, and contract a network of local vendors, outfitters, guides, and transportation partners across Central Oregon.
· Build operating procedures, service standards, safety protocols, and guest-experience guidelines for all DMC programs.
· Create sales tools, collateral, and proposal templates; integrate DMC offerings into the resort's group sales and conference services process.
· Recruit, hire, and train the initial DMC team, including guides and program coordinators as volume warrants.
· Implement booking, billing, and reporting systems; establish KPIs and financial reporting cadence with the Managing Director.
· Launch pilot programs with early group clients, capture feedback, and refine offerings ahead of full-scale operation.
· Own the P&L for the DMC, delivering revenue, margin, and guest-satisfaction targets set with the Managing Director.
· Design, sell, and execute destination programs for group, incentive, wedding, and leisure clients, from proposal through on-site delivery.
· Serve as the primary client contact for DMC programs, conducting site visits, program planning, and post-event reviews.
· Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and audit partner performance against safety and service standards.
· Collaborate with resort sales, conference services, food & beverage, and activities teams to deliver seamless guest experiences.
· Lead, schedule, and develop the DMC team; foster a culture of hospitality, safety, and accountability.
· Monitor market trends and competitor offerings; continually refresh the experience portfolio to keep programming distinctive.
· Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, permits, insurance requirements, and company policies.
Report regularly to the Managing Director on financial performance, pipeline, guest feedback, and operational issues.
Requirements:Skills/Traits
• 5+ years of progressive experience in destination management, resort activities/experiences, group event operations, or hospitality sales, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Demonstrated success launching or growing a business unit, product line, or department, including budgeting and P&L accountability.
• Deep knowledge of Central Oregon (or comparable destination markets) and the outdoor-recreation, transportation, and events vendor landscape.
• Strong contract negotiation, vendor management, and risk-management skills.
• Polished client-facing presence with excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to executives and group clients.
• Proficiency with booking/CRM, event-management, and standard office software; ability to build reporting from the ground up.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as programs require; valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
