Job Description
Title: Clinical Support Technician
Department: Nursing
Status: Full Time – 36 hours per week
Hours: 12 hour shifts: 4:00pm - 4:30am, Hours may be adjusted in response to workload demands. Low census may be utilized in accordance with hospital policy.
Job summary:
Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Shift Manager or Charge Nurse.
Qualifications/Position Requirements:
- High School Graduate or equivalent required.
- CNA required.
- One year of medical-surgical nursing, emergency nursing or equivalent experience preferred.
- BLS Certification required within 3 months of hire and recertification as required.
- Knowledge of basic nursing care: VS, I & O, glucometer testing, assistance with ADLs.
- Knowledge of basic Anatomy and Physiology.
- Knowledge of basic Medical Terminology.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships and effective communication with peers, patients, families, physicians and all other support hospital & external personnel
- Maintaining a positive perspective/attitude and participation in the promotion of change to keep current with health care
- Ability to follow directions accurately, accept delegated responsibilities with professionalism, and consistently demonstrate accountability, teamwork, and advocacy.
- Organized and has the ability to manage multiple tasks in a stressful situation while maintaining composure.
- Exemplary critical thinking, and technical skills essential to job.
- Ability to provide and promote excellence in the delivery of services to both internal and external customers.
- Desire to be part of a health care team dedicated to providing the community and patient’s optimal care and excellent service.
- A sense of responsibility, initiative, honesty and a positive attitude.
- Computer skills
