Job Description
JOB SUMMARY AND KEY OBJECTIVES
Conducts machine troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service for all equipment located on the premises. Must be able to troubleshoot. Ideally this candidate should have electrical experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
• Performs mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs of packaging and production machines. Assures that lock out/tag out procedures are used when equipment is being repaired.
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Repairs or replaces defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassembles equipment.
• Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Records type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures, and policies.
Complies with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned or needed.
Qualifications, Experience, Competencies and Education
Three to five years prior mechanical maintenance experience in production and packaging machinery, preferably in a food service environment.
Possesses equipment maintenance knowledge, technical understanding, and technical zeal. Able to deal with uncertainty.
A well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player.
High School Diploma or equivalent plus technical/vocational training.
Must have own tools.
Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
