Data & Analytics Engagement Analyst Commercial Pharma

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Data & Analytics Engagement Analyst– Commercial Pharma based in Canada.

Drive data-informed commercial decision-making across pharmaceutical and biotech environments through actionable analytics and business insights.
This role focuses on translating complex brand, market, HCP, territory, and patient data into clear recommendations.
You will work closely with Brand, Marketing, Sales, and Commercial Operations teams to support strategic priorities.
Your analysis will help inform product launches, customer targeting, field planning, and commercial performance management.
You will build dashboards, reports, scorecards, and KPI frameworks that make performance easier to understand and act upon.
Using advanced SQL and commercial data sources, you will uncover trends and opportunities across prescribing, sales, claims, CRM, and specialty pharmacy data.
The role offers an opportunity to combine strong analytical expertise with commercial pharma knowledge and compelling data storytelling.

Accountabilities:
  • Analyze brand, market, HCP, territory, and patient performance to identify meaningful trends, opportunities, and performance drivers.
  • Develop actionable insights from prescription, sales, claims, specialty pharmacy, and CRM data.
  • Build and maintain reports, dashboards, scorecards, and KPI frameworks to support commercial performance management.
  • Partner with Brand, Marketing, Sales, Field Leadership, and Commercial Operations teams to address business priorities through analytics.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses supporting product launches, customer targeting, field planning, and other commercial initiatives.
  • Evaluate brand performance and field force effectiveness using relevant commercial KPIs and performance indicators.
  • Analyze metrics such as TRx, NRx/NBRx, growth, market share, HCP prescribing, decile movement, reach, frequency, coverage, and call activity.
  • Translate analytical findings into concise, decision-oriented recommendations that enable stakeholders to take informed commercial actions.

Requirements:

  • 5 to 10+ years of experience in commercial pharmaceutical or biotech analytics, with strong exposure to Brand, Sales, Field Leadership, or Commercial Operations support.
  • Proven expertise in commercial pharma analytics, including brand performance management and field force effectiveness.
  • Advanced SQL skills are required, with the ability to work effectively with complex commercial datasets.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence and visualization tools.
  • Python or R experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical commercial data, including IQVIA Xponent and PlanTrak Rx data, specialty pharmacy referrals and starts, and CRM data.
  • Familiarity with Veeva or Salesforce CRM data, particularly call activity and field engagement information.
  • Strong understanding of commercial KPIs, including prescription trends, market share, HCP prescribing behavior, reach, frequency, coverage, and field activity.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strong capacity for translating data into practical business recommendations.
  • Strong data storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to present complex analysis clearly and concisely to commercial stakeholders.
