Senior Learning Design VSP

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Learning Design VSP based in United States.

This role focuses on designing impactful learning experiences that build technical AI capabilities and improve employee performance.
You will work closely with business leaders, subject matter experts, AI product teams, and associates to translate capability needs into practical learning solutions.
The position combines performance consulting, adult learning theory, instructional design, and emerging technologies to create engaging development experiences.
You will independently manage learning projects while developing scalable content, assessments, multimedia assets, and performance support tools.
Generative AI and other emerging technologies will be leveraged to accelerate content development, learner support, and learning operations.
The role offers an opportunity to influence how technical audiences build and apply skills in support of enterprise-wide AI priorities.
As part of a Variable Staffing Pool, hours may range from part time to full time depending on business needs and project requirements.

Accountabilities:

  • Design and develop engaging, learner-centered learning experiences that strengthen technical skills and drive measurable performance improvements.
  • Conduct learning and performance needs analyses, partnering with stakeholders to identify capability gaps, business requirements, and appropriate learning approaches.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to transform complex technical concepts into clear learning objectives, storyboards, scripts, applied practice, assessments, learner guides, and performance support resources.
  • Develop scalable learning assets and reusable content frameworks that can support evolving AI and technical capability initiatives.
  • Create multimedia learning experiences, including videos, simulations, e-learning courses, job aids, and other digital learning materials.
  • Apply generative AI tools and emerging technologies to accelerate instructional design, content creation, assessment development, and learner support.
  • Keep learning content accurate, current, and relevant as technologies, business priorities, and learner needs evolve.
  • Measure learning effectiveness using learner feedback, assessment outcomes, proficiency gains, behavior change, and job performance indicators, recommending improvements based on findings.
  • Guide facilitators and select appropriate learning technologies, collaboration tools, and delivery methods to support learning development and application.
  • Plan, organize, develop, and deliver curricula and learning programs, including facilitating live and virtual sessions when required.
  • Manage assigned learning projects independently, including timelines, stakeholder communications, deliverables, and risk mitigation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Learning and Performance, Adult Education, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience designing and delivering corporate learning solutions, including e-learning and facilitated learning programs.
  • At least 3 years of experience facilitating engaging in-person and virtual learning experiences using a range of instructional techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience developing learning solutions focused on technical skills, emerging technologies, digital transformation, AI capabilities, or related upskilling initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present learning strategies, recommendations, and outcomes to stakeholders at both functional and leadership levels.
  • Proven ability to plan, execute, and manage learning projects effectively, including timelines, stakeholder engagement, and risk mitigation.
  • Experience designing, developing, and implementing training through multiple formats, such as facilitated learning, cohort programs, rotational programs, and e-learning.
  • Hands-on experience with learning and content-authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, Vyond, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar platforms.
  • Experience administering or managing courses through Cornerstone OnDemand or a comparable learning management system.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technologies, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Experience using generative AI to enhance learning design, content development, learning operations, or learner engagement is preferred, along with a general understanding of enterprise AI and responsible AI practices.
  • Certifications related to instructional design tools or methodologies, such as ATD, CPTD, or Kirkpatrick, are advantageous.
  • Experience working in IT, healthcare, insurance, or similarly complex environments is a plus.
Benefits
  • Compensation range of $71,100–$97,800 per year for full-time equivalent employment; actual pay may vary based on geographic location and job-related skills, experience, education, certifications, and other factors.
