In this role, you’ll spend time both in the office and at customer sites, where you’ll identify solutions, support engineering applications, and provide vendor-managed inventory services. You’ll generate P&IDs and quotes, collaborate with customers and other engineers on designs, and partner with our market team to support account and market plans. You’ll also provide customer training, support inventory management, and troubleshoot technical challenges independently.
The ideal candidate has engineering experience in the oil, gas, or chemical industry and is comfortable working independently in a field-based, customer-facing role. You’ll need strong communication skills and the ability to build credibility with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This position is Monday through Friday and involves regular travel to customer locations.

Requirements:Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in an Oil, Gas and Chemical market team, developing expertise in relevant applications, customer needs, and market trends through continued learning and specialized training.
- Partner closely with the sales team to proactively support opportunity generation, including participating in sales calls, identifying application-specific solutions, and advising throughout all phases of the sales cycle.
- Serve as technical lead in taking customer projects from concept to completion, including P&ID development, component selection, and ensuring product form, fit, and function.
- Lead onsite service efforts for their assigned market team, coordinating with customers and internal teams to identify system improvement opportunities and deliver technical value in the field.
- Assist local customers with inventory management needs including component selection and stocking.
- Deliver clear, tailored technical presentations and training to customers and prospects, highlighting relevant applications and Swagelok’s differentiated value.
- Obtain and maintain Field Engineer Certification through Swagelok Corporate.
- Support the development and execution of sales strategies for their market team, using application insight to influence planning and identify new business opportunities.
- Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders by assisting Customer Success and Sales with product knowledge, application guidance, and troubleshooting.
- Support engineering activities through review of technical documentation, drawings, and fabrication requirements to ensure solutions meet customer needs and specifications.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program is required; Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- 4–7 years of experience in a related engineering role such as project engineering, manufacturing engineering, production engineering, or a similar discipline is desirable.
- Experience in technical support and fabrication is preferred.
- Oil and gas industry experience is strongly preferred.
- Direct customer-facing experience in sales, service, technical support, or field engineering is strongly preferred.
