Position Summary
Zachry Underground Utility Services (ZUUS) is seeking an Oiler to support underground utility and civil construction projects throughout the region. The Oiler is responsible for fueling, lubricating, and performing basic maintenance on construction equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations on job sites.
What You'll Do
- Safely operate a fuel/lube truck to service construction equipment on job sites
- Fuel, grease, and perform routine lubrication of heavy equipment and machinery
- Conduct daily inspections of fuel truck and equipment to ensure safe operation
- Maintain accurate records of fuel usage, service logs, and inspections
- Assist with minor preventative maintenance and identify equipment issues
- Follow all environmental and safety regulations related to fuel handling and storage
- Coordinate with equipment operators and supervisors to prioritize servicing needs
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the fuel truck and service areas
- Follow all safety rules, policies, and procedures
- Perform additional duties as directed by supervisor
What We're Looking For
- Valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) required
- Hazmat and Tanker Endorsement required
- 2+ years of experience operating fuel/lube trucks or similar equipment in construction or industrial environments preferred
- Knowledge of fueling procedures, lubrication practices, and basic equipment maintenance preferred
- Ability to safely operate and maneuver trucks in active construction environments
- Understanding of DOT regulations and fuel handling safety requirements preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions
- Dependable and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
