About The Role
As a Maintenance Engineer in our Engineering department, you will play a key role in ensuring that our facilities, equipment, and systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. In this hourly, full-time position, you will support daily operations by performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues, and helping to implement improvements that reduce downtime and extend asset life. Working closely with operations, production, and other engineering staff, you will use your mechanical and/or electrical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and performance across the site.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and building systems according to established schedules and procedures.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues to minimize equipment downtime.
- Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner, documenting work performed, parts used, and time spent.
- Inspect equipment and facilities to identify potential problems, safety hazards, or areas for improvement, and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist with installation, commissioning, and modification of equipment, systems, and infrastructure as needed.
- Collaborate with operations, production, and other engineering team members to prioritize maintenance activities and support operational goals.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition in compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, schematics, and work instructions to perform maintenance and repairs correctly.
- Support the tracking and management of spare parts, materials, and supplies to ensure availability for scheduled and unscheduled work.
- Participate in safety programs, inspections, and training, and follow all company, local, and national safety standards and procedures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing equipment reliability, energy efficiency, and overall system performance.
- Provide input on maintenance plans and procedures and help develop best practices for equipment care and troubleshooting.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, or engineering technician role in an industrial, manufacturing, commercial, or similar environment.
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems; basic familiarity with electrical, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation such as blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and work instructions.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, test instruments, and standard maintenance equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective repairs.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and compliance with relevant regulations, procedures, and best practices.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, work independently with minimal supervision, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to complete work orders and maintenance records accurately.
- Basic computer skills for using maintenance management systems, email, and related software tools.
- Physical ability to perform the demands of the role, including standing, walking, climbing, lifting, and working in various environmental conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance, mechanical, electrical, or related fields is preferred.
- Willingness to work an hourly, full-time schedule, which may include shifts, overtime, and on-call assignments as required by operations.
The pay range for this role is:
19 - 19 USD per hour(Hilton Garden Inn Billings)
