Director, Product Insights

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Product Insights based in United States.

This role sits at the intersection of product, data, and strategy, responsible for transforming complex information into clear direction for business and product decisions. You will lead a multidisciplinary Insights organization spanning data science, analytics, and user research. The position plays a critical role in shaping enterprise-wide understanding of customer behavior, product performance, and market trends. You will partner closely with executive leadership to influence strategic priorities and long-term roadmaps. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on building scalable insights capabilities across the organization. You will also champion a strong culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous experimentation. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and innovation-driven, with strong visibility across senior stakeholders.

Accountabilities:
  • Define and execute the strategic roadmap for the Insights function, ensuring alignment with product and business priorities.
  • Partner with executive leaders across Product, Marketing, Customer Experience, Design, and Engineering to embed data-driven decision-making into strategic initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional analytics and research programs to uncover opportunities, optimize user experiences, and identify risks through behavioral and performance analysis.
  • Develop and govern enterprise KPIs, dashboards, and reporting frameworks that measure product success, customer experience, and market dynamics.
  • Translate qualitative and quantitative insights into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Build, scale, and mentor a high-performing team of data scientists, analysts, and researchers, fostering innovation and accountability.
  • Oversee budgets, vendors, and analytics tools to ensure scalable and cost-efficient insights operations.
  • Ensure strong data governance, compliance, and ethical standards across all analytics and research activities.
  • Lead complex, multi-phase initiatives from ideation through execution, ensuring measurable business impact.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Analytics, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or user research, including at least 3+ years in a leadership role managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven ability to translate data and research into executive-level strategic recommendations that drive product and business outcomes.
  • Experience in SaaS, fintech, or digital product environments with influence on product development and customer experience strategies.
  • Strong expertise in KPI frameworks, experimentation design, and behavioral analytics in cross-functional settings.
  • Hands-on experience with analytics and research tools such as SQL, Looker, Pendo, Fullstory, or similar platforms.
  • Strong mastery of both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including usability testing and experimental design.
  • Exceptional executive communication skills with the ability to simplify complex insights into clear narratives.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, build alignment, and develop high-performing analytical teams.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to connect data insights to long-term value creation.
