This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Product Designer, Design Systems & Foundations based in the United States.

This is a senior individual contributor role focused on defining and scaling the foundational design systems that power product development across a fast-growing, global SaaS platform. You will own the evolution of a core design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and quality across all user experiences used by frontline teams worldwide. This role goes beyond component design, extending into interaction models, product frameworks, and system-wide design principles. You will partner closely with engineering, product, and design leadership to translate complex workflows into reusable systems that accelerate delivery and improve decision-making. A key part of your impact will be enabling cross-functional teams to build with greater autonomy while maintaining high standards of usability and accessibility. This is a highly influential role shaping how products are designed, built, and scaled across a fully remote, collaborative environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Own and evolve the company’s design system, including components, design tokens, accessibility standards, documentation, and implementation quality in partnership with engineering teams.
  • Define and scale shared interaction patterns, design principles, and foundational frameworks that ensure consistency across products and workflows.
  • Translate product insights into reusable system-level solutions that improve speed, alignment, and design quality across teams.
  • Build and maintain clear documentation, governance models, and decision frameworks that support adoption of design standards across the organization.
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to ensure seamless implementation of design systems aligned with technical constraints and product architecture.
  • Drive adoption and consistency of design systems across multiple product areas and cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute to complex product initiatives and influence long-term product direction, including exploration of emerging technologies such as AI in design workflows.
Requirements
  • Proven experience leading or significantly contributing to a design system at scale in a product organization.
  • Strong systems thinking across interaction design, UX frameworks, information architecture, and visual design.
  • Excellent product design craft with deep expertise in UI, interaction, and scalable design principles.
  • Strong collaboration skills with engineering teams and understanding of implementation constraints.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive alignment, adoption, and consistency across cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience working in ambiguous environments and shaping foundational product infrastructure.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills to influence design decisions and system adoption.
  • Interest or experience in applying AI to design workflows or product development is a strong plus.
  • Experience in platform, operational, or enterprise workflows is a plus, particularly in complex product environments.
Benefits
  • Competitive annual salary range of $178,075 – $217,625 USD, based on experience and location.
  • Fully remote-first culture with flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States.
  • Equity participation in a high-growth, venture-backed company.
  • Flexible paid time off policy supporting rest, travel, and personal wellbeing.
  • Monthly workspace stipend to support off-site or café-based work.
  • Paid volunteer days to support nonprofit and community engagement initiatives.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Annual company off-sites and regular virtual team connection events.
  • Learning and development support, including access to online learning platforms.
  • Long-term sabbatical program after extended tenure.
  • Inclusive, collaborative culture focused on impact, learning, and shared ownership.
