About the role

Responsible for supporting food production operations by operating equipment, processing and packing products, and following SOPs, GMP, safety, and quality standards. Ensures production targets are met, maintains cleanliness of work areas, and works collaboratively with the team to support efficient production flow.

What you'll do

  • Follow work instructions relating the area according to the written procedures (SOP) or as directed by supervisor or department Team Leader
  • Complies with all procedures relevant to the manufacture of the food products in the designated work area
  • Operates and checks machinery and equipment in assigned production room according to the written procedures (SOP)
  • Works to set timeframes to ensure production plan and associated targets are met
  • Rotates through all tasks required to be completed in production room
  • Applies Company policies and procedures at all times
  • Adheres to GMP, hygiene, food quality and people safety standards
  • Works safely and reports all hazards, incidents and near misses to Manager in a timely manner.
  • Takes ownership of work quality
  • Works to room KPIS to produce products of highest quality whilst minimizing downtime and food wastage
  • Checks raw and cooked materials as required and prepares and sorts food items for processing as directed
  • Processes and packs food products in line with the set procedures
  • Reports equipment malfunctions immediately to Manager for the purpose of maintaining equipment in safe working order
  • Keeps processing areas clean and tidy
  • Works with the team to make sure the production line has a regular supply of raw materials or components
  • Transports food supplies to and from internal site locations as required
  • Is adaptable to work in other departments as required in line with employee

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment in a hands-on processing role on a production line
  • Understanding of safety practices; operating food manufacturing equipment used in production environment
  • Good verbal communication skills (able to understand and follow directions)
  • Ability to take and follow instructions
  • Dedicated with strong work ethic & ‘can do’ attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure with pace and energy & meet deadlines
  • Self-driven & motivated
  • Exceptional personal presentation & hygiene
