MARTIN Technologies is seeking a hands-on Bench Technician to support engineering prototype development in our Dearborn, Michigan facility. This position focuses on building ECU racks, breadboards, aluminum frame assemblies, and patch harnesses used for automotive engineering and testing programs.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude, electrical assembly experience, and attention to detail who enjoy working in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble and build ECU racks and prototype breadboard systems.
- Construct aluminum frame structures according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Develop, route, and install patch harnesses and wiring assemblies.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions.
- Install, label, and organize electrical components, connectors, and hardware.
- Perform bench testing and quality inspections to verify completed assemblies.
- Troubleshoot assembly issues and support engineering teams with prototype modifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company quality and safety standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in mechanical or electrical assembly, bench technician work, prototype assembly, or related manufacturing roles.
- Ability to use common hand and power tools.
- Experience reading mechanical drawings or wiring schematics is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in a bench assembly environment.
- Experience building wiring harnesses or patch harnesses.
- Experience assembling prototype fixtures, ECU racks, or electrical test equipment.
- Automotive, electronics, or engineering lab experience is a plus.
