Estimator in Raleigh, North Carolina at Tri South Mechanical LLC

The Installation Estimator will analyze the scope of a proposed HVAC projects to create a detailed estimate of the project’s cost.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Attend weekly Ops Meeting to review Priority Report for current, ongoing, and new installation jobs.
• Document and follow up on assigned action items and decisions from meetings. This position will be responsible for the following action items: Equipment follow up with distributors, for Bid jobs or other jobs as assigned.
• Other items as assigned.

Bid Quoting

• Review and evaluate plan and spec drawings to determine scope of work.
• Perform bid job site visits, as needed.
• Request and gather vendor quotes for material, equipment and subcontractors for projects, whether from internal departments or an external supplier.
• Determine equipment, material and labor needs for project.
• Confirm pricing received reflects the correct scope of work.
• Review and ensure all bids are priced correctly by subcontractors and vendors.
• Prepare detailed, accurate, professional estimates by calculating equipment, material, and labor needs for project.
• Submit bid proposals and budgets by the deadline.
• Consistently follow up on submitted bids to close business.
• Work closely with management to determine budgeting and strategic goals for estimating and business development opportunities.
• Keep accurate database of prospective projects.

Job Turnover

• Meet with Lead Mechanic to turn over awarded jobs.
• Provide turnover sheet.
• Create job in Field Edge.
• Ensure job is added to schedule.
• Verify quoted amounts for subs, materials are still valid.
