Nearly 23 years ago, 23-year-old Matthew Dicken grew frustrated with the issues plaguing the financial services industry and set out on a mission to change the industry standard and prioritize clients in retirement planning. What started as a small two-person team in a 1,200 sq. ft. office in Louisville, KY, has evolved into the Strategic Wealth Designers we now know, with 18 locations across the U.S. and almost 100 employees. You are here to own and grow client relationships and guide clients through some of the most important financial decisions of their lives.
As a Financial Advisor at SWD, your role is to:
Strengthen and retain existing client relationshipsIdentify opportunities to deepen those relationships over timeDrive growth through additional assets, referrals and expanded client engagementYou will partner with the Lead Advisor to serve an established client base, but service alone is not the goal.

The Financial Advisor serves as a relationship manager for an existing group of clients while working alongside the Lead Advisor to deliver planning guidance, service, and preparation support. This role requires ownership, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellent client service. You are responsible for ensuring the client experience is organized, responsive, and professional at every step.
Client Relationship Management
You will:
Serve as a relationship manager for an existing book of businessConduct review and strategy meetings with a focus on both service and opportunityIdentify gaps in planning, assets, or coverage and address them proactivelyBuild trust that leads to long-term retention and expanded relationshipsClients stay because they feel understood and supported.

Growth & Relationship Development
You will:
Identify opportunities for additional assets, accounts or services within existing client relationshipsEncourage and generate referrals through consistent value deliver and trust-buildingPartner with the Lead Advisor to convert opportunities into actionable next stepsContribute to the organic growth of the firm through relationship expansionThis is not cold prospecting.
This is growth through trust and execution.
Meeting Execution & Opportunity Development
You will:
Prepare for client meetings with both service and growth in mindEnsure meetings include clear recommendations and next stepsSurface opportunities for additional planning, assets or solutionsFollow through on all action items that move the relationship forwardEvery meeting should do one of two things:
Strengthen the relationshipAdvance the relationshipIdeally both.
Operational Execution
You will:
Maintain accurate CRM documentation and notesAssist with internal reporting and data managementEnsure consistent follow-through on client requestsSupport the overall client experience within the officeConsistency builds trust.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldSeries 65 or Series 66 license1+ years of experience as a Financial AdvisorExperience with investment management and insurance solutionsStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesA proactive mindset and strong follow-throughPreferred Qualifications
CFP® designationLife & Health licensesExperience with a CRM systemExperience with the Envestnet platformWho You Are

Position Details
Commitment: Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week (8am–5pm), with occasional flexibility due to client meetings or events.Location: 500 N. Hurstbourne Pkwy., Louisville, KY 40222Compensation: Starting salary range is $100,000–$125,000, depending on CFP® certification and experience.
