Senior IT System Administrator

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior IT System Administrator based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to manage and enhance enterprise IT infrastructure within a fast-growing, technology-driven environment.
You will play a key role in maintaining secure, scalable, and reliable systems that support business operations worldwide.
The position combines hands-on technical expertise, automation, security practices, and strategic infrastructure improvements.
You will work across identity management, endpoint security, cloud platforms, and IT operations to drive efficiency.

Accountabilities

As a Senior IT System Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining, securing, and improving enterprise technology infrastructure. You will support critical IT systems, automate operational processes, and provide technical guidance to enhance reliability, security, and efficiency across the organization.

  • Administer and maintain identity platforms, including single sign-on, authentication, access controls, and user lifecycle management.
  • Automate onboarding and offboarding processes for users, devices, and application access to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Manage corporate IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, firewalls, applications, and cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Configure and maintain endpoint management platforms, including Jamf and Intune, while supporting security policies, patching, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Implement and maintain IT compliance processes, including SOX auditing requirements and security controls.
  • Build automation solutions using code and no-code tools to reduce repetitive tasks and improve operational scalability.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-driven solutions, to optimize IT operations and improve decision-making.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including runbooks, standard operating procedures, and end-user guides.
  • Collaborate with Security, DevOps, HR, and other teams to identify infrastructure improvements and deliver technology initiatives.
  • Support IT leadership with strategic projects, including initiatives involving sensitive information and confidential operational matters.
  • Contribute to defining IT processes, best practices, and change management procedures.
Requirements

The ideal candidate is an experienced IT infrastructure professional with strong knowledge of enterprise systems, security, automation, and cloud technologies. You should be comfortable managing complex environments, solving technical challenges, and independently driving projects from planning through completion.

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience managing enterprise-scale IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of identity and access management concepts, including SAML, OAuth, SCIM, JIT provisioning, and Okta administration.
  • Experience administering mobile device management platforms such as Jamf and Intune.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure, troubleshooting, and cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
  • Knowledge of security principles, including least privilege access, secure system design, and data protection practices.
  • Experience automating IT operations using scripting languages and tools such as Python, Bash, ZSH, PowerShell, APIs, webhooks, Okta Workflows, AWS Lambda, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and version control systems including Git and GitHub.
  • Understanding of cloud concepts, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and public cloud administration.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create clear technical documentation.
  • Ability to independently manage projects, define plans, and deliver outcomes with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with change management and establishing IT processes, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Additional value comes from experience with large-scale IT transformations, mergers and acquisitions, AI-assisted IT solutions, compliance frameworks such as SOX or NIST, ISO standards, and relevant IT certifications.
