Job Description

Create an exceptional ownership experience while building a rewarding career in Automotive Finance!

Genesis of Cary is looking for an experienced, polished, and performance-driven Finance & Insurance (F&I) Manager to join our team.

The F&I Manager plays an important role in the vehicle-purchase experience, helping guests transition seamlessly from selecting their vehicle to completing the financial portion of their transaction. This position combines relationship building, consultative selling, financial expertise, lender relationships, attention to detail, and uncompromising compliance.

We're looking for someone who can deliver strong financial performance while maintaining the transparent, professional, guest-focused experience expected at Genesis of Cary.

What You'll Do

As an F&I Manager, you'll work directly with guests, Sales Consultants, Sales Management, dealership leadership, and lending partners to structure and complete vehicle transactions while identifying financing and protection options that meet each guest's individual needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Welcome guests into the financial portion of the vehicle-buying process and provide a professional, seamless transition from Sales to Finance.
  • Conduct a consultative interview to understand each guest's financing needs, payment objectives, and available options.
  • Review customer credit information and relevant transaction details to determine appropriate financing options and deal structures.
  • Structure and submit finance transactions to appropriate lending partners for approval.
  • Work with lenders and dealership management to resolve financing issues and help facilitate successful completion of transactions.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with dealership lending partners.
  • Present financing options clearly, accurately, and transparently.
  • Present available finance and insurance products through the dealership's established menu process.
  • Explain available products, coverage, costs, and options so guests can make informed decisions based on their individual needs.
  • Process finance transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare, review, and complete required finance, insurance, lender, and dealership documentation.
  • Ensure administrative processes associated with assigned transactions are accurate, complete, and timely.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of available finance and insurance products, lender programs, and dealership processes.
  • Follow up with guests as appropriate to ensure satisfaction and support long-term relationships, loyalty, and referrals.
  • Work collaboratively with Sales Consultants, Sales Managers, other F&I professionals, and dealership leadership to provide a seamless guest experience.
  • Meet or exceed established individual and departmental performance objectives.
Compliance Matters

Success in F&I requires more than strong production. Accuracy, transparency, consistency, and compliance are fundamental responsibilities of the position.

The F&I Manager is expected to:

  • Conduct transactions in accordance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Follow all Johnson Automotive policies, Finance Department procedures, and established F&I processes.
  • Maintain transparency and consistency throughout the financing and product-presentation process.
  • Ensure finance and insurance products are accurately represented and appropriately documented.
  • Ensure required transaction documentation is complete, accurate, timely, and properly executed.
  • Protect confidential customer financial and personal information.
  • Proactively identify and resolve documentation, lender, funding, and transaction issues.
  • Immediately elevate questions, discrepancies, or potential compliance concerns to appropriate management.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, integrity, and ethical business practices in every transaction.
What We're Looking For

We're looking for an F&I professional who can combine financial expertise, consultative sales ability, exceptional guest service, and disciplined execution.

Successful candidates should bring:

  • Previous automotive F&I, automotive sales management, or comparable automotive retail finance experience.
  • Strong understanding of automotive financing, lender programs, and F&I products.
  • Proven ability to structure transactions and work effectively with lending partners.
  • Strong consultative selling and presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • The ability to explain financial information, financing options, and F&I products clearly and professionally.
  • Strong customer-service and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to administrative accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines.
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving ability.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, performance-driven dealership environment.
  • Comfort using dealership, lender, and financial technology systems.
  • A commitment to ethical business practices and regulatory compliance.
  • A valid driver's license and driving record acceptable under company standards.
What Success Looks Like

Our F&I Managers are expected to deliver results while protecting the integrity of every transaction and providing an exceptional guest experience.

Performance may be measured through:

  • Finance PVR
  • Finance and insurance product penetration
  • Total finance and product sales volume
  • Transaction volume
  • Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI)
  • Contracts-in-Transit (CIT) performance
  • Accuracy and timeliness of transaction processing
  • Compliance with federal and state requirements
  • Adherence to Johnson Automotive policies and established Finance Department processes
  • Guest satisfaction and relationship building
  • Professionalism, teamwork, and overall contribution to dealership performance
