Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Software Engineer, Network Infrastructure in United States.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of modern cloud infrastructure by building and scaling networking systems that power high-performance developer platforms used by millions worldwide. In this role, you will work on mission-critical infrastructure spanning Kubernetes networking, traffic routing, distributed systems, and large-scale cloud connectivity across data centers and cloud providers. You will contribute to the design and evolution of reliable, secure, and highly scalable networking solutions that support next-generation applications, including AI-native and multi-service architectures. The environment is highly collaborative, engineering-driven, and focused on innovation, technical excellence, and continuous learning. You will partner with experienced infrastructure engineers to solve complex networking challenges while directly influencing platform architecture and operational reliability. This role is ideal for engineers who are passionate about distributed systems, cloud networking, and building resilient infrastructure at scale.
- Design, build, and operate core network infrastructure across multiple cloud providers and data center environments.
- Develop customer-facing networking capabilities that improve service connectivity, traffic routing, scalability, and deployment flexibility.
- Scale and optimize traffic routing systems, ingress platforms, load balancing solutions, and distributed networking services.
- Investigate and resolve complex networking and infrastructure issues across Linux networking layers, Kubernetes systems, distributed services, and edge environments.
- Improve platform reliability, security, and performance through profiling, tuning, monitoring, and architectural enhancements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to design stable, predictable, and scalable infrastructure solutions.
- Contribute to hybrid cloud and bare metal networking architecture, including transit, cross-cluster connectivity, and large-scale network operations.
- Participate in incident response and on-call rotations while continuously improving operational readiness and system resiliency.
- Support the evolution of next-generation compute and networking platforms through innovation and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
- 6+ years of experience building and operating large-scale networking, infrastructure, or distributed systems environments.
- Strong expertise in Kubernetes networking internals, including technologies such as kube-proxy, CNI plugins, service routing, or related container networking systems.
- Deep understanding of Linux networking concepts and production networking environments, including routing, iptables/nftables, conntrack, and related networking primitives.
- Experience designing and operating large-scale traffic routing systems, including load balancers, proxies, ingress systems, or edge networking platforms.
- Strong background in distributed systems architecture, debugging, reliability engineering, and infrastructure scalability.
- Proven ability to plan and execute high-risk infrastructure changes with minimal downtime and operational impact.
- Experience working in cloud-native environments with a strong understanding of infrastructure automation and systems reliability.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex cross-system issues.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills in fast-paced, highly technical engineering environments.
- Experience with hybrid cloud or data center networking technologies such as BGP, AWS Direct Connect, Arista, or Juniper is a plus.
- Familiarity with eBPF, advanced Linux kernel networking, or low-level systems programming is a plus.
- Experience developing systems in Go or similar programming languages is beneficial.
- Competitive compensation package with equity opportunities and early-exercise options.
- Four weeks of paid vacation annually.
- Fully paid parental leave for all parents, including support for adoption and foster care situations.
- Comprehensive healthcare coverage with employer-paid medical, dental, and vision plans.
- 401(k), life insurance, and long-term disability coverage.
- Flexible spending accounts (FSA) and health savings accounts (HSA) options.
- Monthly wellness and lifestyle stipend supporting mental health, hobbies, and personal well-being.
- Monthly internet and mobile phone reimbursement.
- Home office stipend and commuter benefits where applicable.
- Continuous learning and professional development support.
- Remote-friendly and collaborative engineering culture focused on innovation, growth, and technical excellence.
