WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Operate our Onsrud M-Series 5×12 CNC router to produce precision parts and custom components
- Work with a wide variety of materials including plywood, MDF, solid surface, acrylics, and specialty plastics
- Handle manual nesting and toolpathing as well as automated batch cutting programs
- Set up tooling, work offsets, and verify programs before every cut
- Monitor machine operation and dial in feeds/speeds to hit quality targets
- Inspect finished parts with a sharp eye for accuracy, quality, and finish standards
- Troubleshoot machining or material issues and keep things moving
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe CNC work area
- Perform routine machine cleaning and light preventative maintenance
- Collaborate daily with fellow CNC operators and our fabrication crew
WHAT YOU BRING
Required:
- Proven hands-on experience operating a CNC router in a production or custom fabrication environment
- Experience cutting sheet goods and plastics — you know how materials behave and how to get the best out of them
- Solid understanding of safe shop and machining practices, CNC setup procedures, tooling selection, and fixturing/hold-down methods
- Ability to read shop drawings and job documentation accurately
- Strong communication skills — you can talk shop with project managers and production staff alike
- Detail-oriented mindset with a real commitment to quality and hitting deadlines
- Comfortable working independently while staying plugged into the team
Bonus Points For:
- Background in custom millwork, exhibit fabrication, or specialty shop environments
- Experience cutting acrylics, plastics, or solid surface materials
- Eagerness to cross-train and expand your skills across other shop areas
SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
- Full-time, hourly position
- Flexible scheduling available — afternoon/evening shift preferred
- Overtime opportunities available based on production workload
- Hourly rate commensurate with experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand for extended periods in a shop environment
- Able to lift and handle sheet goods (team lifts available as needed)
- Comfortable in a fabrication shop environment — noise, dust, and all
- PPE required: hearing protection, safety glasses, and appropriate footwear
