Proposal Technical Writer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Proposal Technical Writer based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to shape high-quality proposals that support government and commercial business opportunities.
You will transform complex technical information into clear, persuasive, and evaluation-focused content.
Working closely with subject matter experts and project teams, you will ensure proposals are accurate, compelling, and compliant.
Your research and writing will help communicate technical capabilities and address client priorities effectively.
The role requires strong ownership, organization, and attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment.
As part of a remote team, you will contribute to a collaborative proposal process where quality and consistency are essential.
Some travel may be required depending on business needs.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop clear, compelling, and technically accurate proposals in response to government and commercial solicitations, ensuring content addresses client requirements and evaluation criteria.
  • Translate complex technical concepts, processes, and capabilities into concise, accessible, and reader-focused proposal content.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, project managers, and cross-functional teams to gather information, validate technical details, and develop strong responses.
  • Research industry trends, customer needs, competitive offerings, and relevant market information to strengthen proposal strategy and positioning.
  • Edit and proofread proposal materials for grammar, clarity, consistency, formatting, compliance, and professional tone.
  • Maintain organized repositories of proposal content, templates, past submissions, and reusable materials to support future proposal development.
  • Manage multiple writing assignments and proposal deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality and accuracy.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in technical writing or proposal development, preferably within the government contracting sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and content-structuring skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong research and analytical abilities, including the capacity to gather, evaluate, and synthesize information from multiple sources.
  • Familiarity with government contracting proposals, solicitations, compliance requirements, and evaluation criteria is highly valuable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with proposal management or collaboration tools.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical experts and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A proactive, adaptable approach and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
