Job Description
The Professional Billing Quality Assurance Specialist and Trainer is responsible for providing ongoing feedback and education to PB Billing, Follow-up and Customer Service departments. Under the general supervision of the Director of Professional billing, the QA/trainer is responsible for daily review of the integrity of the billing, follow-up and customer service areas through audits of completed work by teammates. The QA/Trainer is responsible for systematically recording the results of their quality reviews for the purpose of providing feedback and strategic improvement. This position will also assist with training and education of physician office staff on denial prevention measures that will include; registration edits and authorization requirements. This position requires a full understanding of the complexities of the Professional revenue cycle specifically starting with the professional charge being submitted and forward to resolution of the account. Responsible for leading training activities that prepare end users to perform their duties in the billing, follow-up and customer service areas. Maintains and exhibits a positive, supportive and safety conscious attitude, leading by example. Responsible for monthly/weekly reports to help better manage the revenue cycle, by helping trend and analyze data.
Qualifications: Associates or higher degree required, but will consider appropriate experience in Healthcare, Business Services or Patient Access Services. Requires one year healthcare revenue experience. Must possess analytical skills for problem solving, training evaluation and effective organization of responsibilities. Possess effective time management skills to permit handling a large workload. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience developing training materials preferred. Experience with Epic, specifically for Patient Access and Revenue Cycle preferred.
