We are seeking disciplined, mechanically skilled professionals to join our team as an Antique Clock Restoration Technician.

If your military background involved mechanical systems, precision equipment, maintenance, repair, calibration, logistics, or technical problem-solving, your experience may translate exceptionally well into this specialized civilian trade.

This is a hands-on career focused on restoring and preserving historic mechanical timepieces and valuable antiques with precision, care, and craftsmanship.

WHAT YOU’LL DOMechanical Restoration & Repair
  • Diagnose and repair antique clocks and precision mechanical devices
  • Disassemble, clean, inspect, and rebuild clock movements
  • Restore and calibrate grandfather clocks, wall clocks, mantel clocks, and specialty timepieces
  • Fabricate, repair, or replace mechanical components including gears, springs, pivots, bushings, escapements, and pendulum systems
  • Perform timing regulation and precision adjustments for accurate operation
Safe Handling & Installation
  • Handle delicate and high-value antiques with extreme care
  • Assist with transport, setup, installation, and movement of antique clocks
  • Operate moving and handling equipment safely and effectively
Professional Workshop & Client Service
  • Maintain detailed repair and restoration documentation
  • Keep a clean, organized, and professional workshop environment
  • Communicate professionally with clients and team members
  • Participate in gallery installations, exhibitions, and specialty projects
Requirements: QUALIFICATIONSRequired
  • Proven mechanical repair or technical experience
  • Strong problem-solving and hands-on technical skills
  • Ability to work independently and maintain high standards
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
Preferred
  • Experience with antique restoration, horology, machining, fabrication, or precision repair
  • Military mechanical, engineering, maintenance, or technical MOS experience
  • Experience handling valuable equipment or specialized machinery

Work Environment

This is a physically demanding position with employees mainly working in a controlled gallery environment but at times will work outside in weather conditions (hot, cold, etc.). In addition, periodic travel is an essential element of this position. The employee must be able to operate and enter/exit a vehicle. Work environment involves slight physical risk that requires following basic safety precautions. The position requires the use of equipment with relatively simple operating procedures. Advanced application of manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination is also required.

Physical Demands

The following are needed to perform the essential functions of the position which include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to raise/lower or push/pull objects from one level or another up to 50lbs
  • Ability to frequently walk
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop and climb
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to read and write the English language
  • Ability to read documents for general understanding (correspondence/memos)
  • Ability to view video display terminals (VTD) for extended periods of time
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle

Compensation, Position Type & Travel:

  • Full-time hourly position with a very competitive compensation range based on abilities and experience plus the potential to earn quarterly and annual bonuses
  • Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:15 pm with at least one Saturday per month required – overtime as needed to support business needs
  • Local and out-of-state travel required
