NURSING TECHNICIAN in Randallstown, Maryland at LifeBridge Health

UNIT SUMMARY: The Stroke Medical Unit is a 40-bed unit that specializes in the care of geriatric patients and offers an interdisciplinary approach to respiratory care. The Stroke Medical Unit is a designated stroke unit. Staff members must utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, implement clinical nursing interventions to modify symptoms, and develop and implement patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes. Special training on how to care for patients on vents and how to respond to different alarms on the unit is required.

JOB SUMMARY: Functions under the supervision of the RN in a cooperative effort with the health care team to assist in providing a variety of patient care related duties. Maintains the standards of nursing care for all patients and implements the policies and procedures of the unit, Hospital and Nursing Department.

REQUIREMENTS: Entry level knowledge; basic employment skills; High School diploma or GED equivalent; 1-3 years of experience; Basic computer skills; Synquest; Medical terminology; Hoyer lift; Communication devices; Specialty beds; Automatic B/P cuff; GNA / CNA Licensure; BLS/CPR card from AHA.
