Albany Care, a Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facility (SMHRF) in Evanston, IL, has an Opening for a Full Time Housekeeping and Maintenance Director.

We offer you a Salary of $50k-$60k, Plus Full Benefits, with a M-F Schedule.

~ The Maintenance and Housekeeping Director will be On Call as Needed ~

The Director of Housekeeping and Maintenance is responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, directing, coordinating, reporting, budgeting/ordering supplies, repairs, emergencies as well as the physical management of Housekeeping and Maintenance employees.

Responsibilities of the Housekeeping and Maintenance Director:

• Maintenance of all electricity and plumbing in the facility
• Maintenance of all appliances and machinery, and laundry equipment
• Maintain and document schedule of hot water checks in residents’ rooms, baths, showers and all general hot water sources in the facility
• Check and replace air filters
• Supervise all repairs, construction, renovation, and remodeling and routine maintenance of the building
• Modify department policies to assure compliance and in-service all affected personnel accordingly
• Be available to troubleshoot emergencies and urgent repairs
• Work monthly rotation as weekend supervisor as part of Department Head responsibilities

of the Housekeeping and Maintenance Director:

• A high school diploma or G.E.D preferred
• A valid Illinois Driver’s License
• Life Safety Code experience a plus
• A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a Long-Term Care or other health care facility preferred
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electricity, painting, general repairs, heating and air-conditioning in large facilities – Licensure or certification in any of these areas preferred
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, move equipment, supplies, etc in excuss of fifty (50) pounds required.
• Knowledge of JCAHO, OBRA, OSHA, LSC, IDPH, AND HFS regulations relevant to Housekeeping, Maintenance, laundry and employment
• Good administrative, leadership, managerial, organizational, planning and interpersonal skills
• High degree of professionalism
