Sr Accounting Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr Accounting Specialist based in India.

Accountabilities:

The Sr Accounting Specialist will be responsible for managing key accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with internal and external accounting standards. The role requires strong ownership of general ledger activities, financial analysis, and process execution.

  • Perform monthly accounting activities while adhering to established close calendars and reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare and post accurate and complete accrual entries.
  • Manage intangible asset accounting, including capitalization, amortization, and maintenance of related schedules.
  • Handle lease accounting activities, including recognition, measurement, and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and account reconciliations, ensuring timely submission through internal systems.
  • Support intercompany transactions and foreign expense calculations.
  • Manage accounting activities related to liabilities and transaction service agreements.
  • Assist with internal and statutory audits by preparing reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Apply knowledge of direct taxation requirements and relevant accounting standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to stronger financial controls.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced accounting professional with strong knowledge of general ledger processes, financial controls, and reporting requirements. They should be analytical, detail-focused, and comfortable working in a multinational corporate environment.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce, or qualifications such as CA Inter or CMA Inter.
  • 5–7 years of experience in accounting roles, with strong exposure to general ledger functions.
  • Experience working within an internal controls environment, preferably in a multinational organization.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and Indian Accounting Standards is preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle R12; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes.
  • Advanced analytical skills with strong attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize multiple tasks, and work collaboratively with global teams.
