Meraki Network Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Meraki Network Engineer based in Canada.

This remote contract opportunity is designed for a networking professional with hands-on experience in Cisco and Meraki technologies.
You will support network lifecycle initiatives by managing device configurations, monitoring inventory, and ensuring smooth operational processes.
The role combines technical expertise with strong collaboration skills, requiring effective communication with engineers, project teams, and business stakeholders.
You will help maintain reliable cloud-managed network environments while improving documentation, visibility, and lifecycle management practices.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to large-scale network operations in a flexible remote setting.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while supporting enterprise network performance.

Accountabilities:

As a Meraki Network Engineer, you will support network lifecycle management activities, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure network devices and configurations remain aligned with operational requirements. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Tracking and reporting inventory KPIs related to network lifecycle activities.
  • Monitoring inventory of lifecycle devices and ensuring accurate status visibility.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation related to network changes and configurations.
  • Acting as an escalation point for network anomalies and lifecycle-related issues.
  • Verifying configurations of new network devices before deployment.
  • Ensuring retired or lifecycle-completed devices are properly removed from the network management platform.
  • Providing detailed progress reports on lifecycle status, milestones, and operational updates.
  • Supporting network engineers and stakeholders with troubleshooting and coordination activities.
  • Collaborating with technical teams to ensure efficient execution of network initiatives.
  • Applying project management principles to organize tasks, priorities, and deliverables.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced networking professional with knowledge of Cisco/Meraki environments and strong communication abilities. Required qualifications include:

  • 5+ years of networking experience with strong expertise in Cisco and Meraki technologies, including MX, MS, and MR appliances.
  • Experience working with cloud-managed networking concepts and platforms.
  • Understanding of Cisco switching and wireless technologies.
  • Familiarity with Meraki Dashboard terminology, structure, profiles, and templates.
  • Knowledge of network lifecycle management processes and best practices.
  • Ability to review, validate, and troubleshoot network configurations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with engineers, leadership, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage priorities, track progress, and provide clear status updates.
  • Understanding of project management concepts and operational workflows.
  • Experience supporting enterprise network environments is preferred.
