Surgical Technologist in Bolivar, Missouri at Citizens Memorial

Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) is hiring a Surgical Technologist to join our team in the Birth Place at our main hospital in Bolivar, Missouri — someone who leads with skill, compassion, and a drive to positively impact every patient and family we serve.

Position Details

• Status: Full-time, non-exempt
• Work Shift: Days
• Hours: Between 7am and 7pm; every 3rd weekend and overnight call coverage availability

What Your Day Looks Like: The Birth Place has six labor, delivery, recovery and post-partum (LDRP) rooms equipped with modern equipment and monitors combining state-of-the-art facilities with family-centered maternity care.

As a Surgical Technologist, you will be:

• Setting up sterile tables with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications needed for procedures
• Checking patients' charts, identifying patients, and verifying surgeries to be performed
• Handing instruments, supplies, and equipment to surgical team during procedures
• Preparing sterile dressings and securing dressings after incision closures
• Cleaning and preparing instruments for terminal sterilization
• Assisting with terminal cleaning of rooms and prepping rooms for the next patient

Qualifications

Education: Must hold an Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology, or be currently enrolled in a Surgical Technology Program, or be a licensed practical or registered nurse.

Skills: Patient care, attention to detail, communication and listening skills

Licensure/Certification:

• Non-Certified Technician: Must work toward obtaining NBSTSA certification, NCCT certified tech in surgery, or NRST certified tech in surgery within 36 months of employment. Or be licensed as a practical or registered nurse
• Certified Surgical Technologist. NBSTSA certification required or NCCT certified tech in surgery, or NRST certified tech in surgery or LPN/RN.

Physical Requirements: Physical stamina to stand for long periods, manual dexterity, ability to assist with positioning patients and lifting and carrying trays with surgical instruments.
